Welcome to Clemson University's Galactic Chemical Evolution Web Site

We have constructed this web site for anyone seeking to understand the evolution of isotopes in the Galaxy. The site contains several ION ("IDL on the Net" from Research Systems, Inc.) based web tools that allow a user to construct original GCE-related tables and plots. Also included at this site are the results of a few GCE studies we have performed.

Browser Requirements

We have tried to design the tools at this site so that they are compatible with as many browsers as possible without sacrificing valuable functionality. However, there are still limitations:

  1. Most importantly (and permanently), our tools depend heavily upon JavaScript. Some of the tools will not even start if your browser does not have JavaScript enabled.
  2. You must turn off any pop-up blockers in order for some of our tools to function correctly.
  3. We recommend at least an 800x600 16-bit color display. 640x480 256 colors will work, but some of the pages will be a little jumbled and the colors may not appear as intended.

Troubleshooting

We have had the opportunity to test these tools with only a limited number of browsers. See the troubleshooting page for a list of browsers we have tested and a list of known problems. Technical contact information is given here as well.
