The following tutorials will help you learn how to use the tool:
Beginner. This tutorial shows the steps you carry out to calculate the concentrations of radioactive or stable species in each of the three phases of the interstellar medium. This particular tutorial uses the example of the abundances of 26Al and 27Al, since their ratio is fairly well known in the ISM from observations of gamma rays and in the early solar system from meteorites.
129I/127I. This tutorial further illustrates the use of the Three Phase ISM tool through a calculation of the interstellar concentration of 129I, the first extinct radioactivity discovered in meteorites. This tutorial assumes some familiarity with the use of the tool; therefore, it should be used after the Beginner tutorial above.
238U/232Th. This tutorial illustrates the use of the Three Phase ISM tool for cases where there are two radioactive species. The particular problem explored is that of the chronometric pair 238U and 232Th, which shed light on the age and evolution of the Galaxy.
